Earthquake Update

In the last week and a half, we have visited rural areas around Bukoba which suffered major damages from the earthquake. Like I wrote before, many families have lost their homes and nearly all of their belongings. Many of these families haven’t gotten any help or support since the earthquake. We were able to provide basic food during this visits such as ugali flower, sugar and salt. We will continue visiting families and providing food during the coming weeks…
BUT the families we are visiting also have an urgent need for supplies like nails and thin-roofsheets so that they can build shelters. They have been sleeping outside or under plastic sheets since the earthquake and as the rainy season is coming, they must build temporary structures now. Fundings are in progress…
